2026 Season Details:

 

April 15: Sign Up Period Begins

Coaching: Casey Martinez will serve as head coach. Casey played D1 baseball throughout college (Virginia Tech, Sacramento State), was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2000 and played throughout Minor League Baseball, including A, AA, and AAA.  Assistant coaches remain TBD.

Team Assembly: The Champlain Valley American Legion team will be selected from available players, with the possibility of a tryout. More details to come. After a position is offered, a deposit will be paid to hold the player’s spot. 


Season Length: The regular season is anticipated to have 18 League games and run from mid-June to late July. (Non-League games may be added.) Champlain Valley participates in the Vermont American Legion Baseball U19 Senior League. CVU High School is our primary home field.

Season Details: The game schedule is still being fine-tuned, but generally speaking games are slated to be held on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays (double headers); the first game is currently scheduled for Tues., June 16. Currently, just one Sunday is scheduled for games, July 5. First pitch for weekday games is 5:30 p.m. (Light Practice, I/O to be held prior to games.) TBD practices will be held, as scheduled by the coaching staff.

Double headers are currently scheduled for Saturday, June 20; Saturday, June 27; Sunday, July 5; and Saturday, July 18. First pitch for double headers are 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Tournament Play: The Vermont American Legion Baseball State Tournament is scheduled for late July. The top four teams in both of Vermont's divisions advance to the tournament.  Currently, 2026 Vermont Tournament will be held July 25 to July 29 in Fair Haven, Vermont, hosted by Lakes Region. 

(Vermont tournament winner will play in Regional Tournament from Aug. 13 to Aug. 18 Shrewsbury, Mass.)

Champlain Valley American Legion (CV Legion) is operated through Champlain Valley Baseball, LTD, a Vermont nonprofit organization. The team, which was restarted in 2024, is entering its third season participating in the Northern Division of Vermont American Legion Baseball.
